Duxbury Town

Duxbury is located just 35 miles south of Boston, right off of Route 3. It shares a border with three other South Shore towns: Kingston, Pembroke, and Marshfield. This coastal town is most widely known for its cranberry bogs, oyster beds, shipbuilding, and historic homes.

A Little Duxbury History

Myles Standish and John Alden are credited with being the first pilgrims to settle Duxbury in 1624. A few years later, in 1637, Myles Standish took it upon himself to name the area Duxbury, after a place in his home town of Lancashire, Great Britain.

Today, Duxbury is a thriving residential community with a village atmosphere.
